InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has inked an agreement with PT Bali Perkasa Sukses, a subsidiary of PT Agung Podomoro Land Tbk (APLN) andIndonesia’s largest real estate developers, to manage Hotel Indigo Bali Seminyak in Bali.
The 280-key resort, situated in Seminyak, is the first InterContinental brand resort in Bali. Expected to open in mid 2016, it will feature both rooms and villas, as well as spa facilities.
Strategically located the hotel is a short walk to some of Seminyak’s stylish fashion boutiques, art shops, and casual chic restaurants such as Ku De Ta and Potato Head.
Clarence Tan, IHG’s COO South East Asia and Resorts, said: “The popularity of Bali amongst domestic and overseas visitors as well as the airport expansion makes it an ideal time to extend the IHG brand family to one of South-east Asia’s most popular holiday destinations.
“Each Hotel Indigo property around the world is customised to reflect the individual style and culture of its location. The interior of Hotel Indigo Bali Seminyak is specially designed to stay rooted to the local Balinese culture and also brings to life the uniqueness of the Seminyak district in elements of design and service.”
Hotel Indigo Bali Seminyak will join two existing IHG hotels in Bali – InterContinental Bali and Holiday Inn Resort Baruna Bali. Indonesia has IHG’s largest development pipeline in South East Asia with over 20 hotels (about 5,000 rooms) under its brands including InterContinental, Hotel Indigo, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express.
