MesaStila Magelang – healing retreat rich in history and culture

A tranquil sanctuary for the perfect honeymoon or a wellness vacation.

MesaStila Magelang is located 900 metres above the plains of Central Java, encircled by eight mountains and surrounded by dense tropical jungle, and spreads over 22 hectares of gardens and a coffee plantation.

The hotel is only 45 minutes from the famous Borobudur Temple, and conveniently located between Semarang Airport, Jogjakarta Airport and Solo Airport. It is about one-and-a-half-hour drive by car from Semarang Airport, and two hours from Jogjakarta Airport or Solo Airport to MesaStila.

MesaStila has a collection of remarkable antiques and enchanting buildings including Central Java icons such as a colonial railway station from the 1860s, historic Joglo-villas, and the original plantation owner’s house from 1828.

The property has 23 villas that are built on the top of the hill in the middle of the coffee plantation, which produces up to seven tons of coffee a year. Villa size ranges from 80sqm to 135sqm with modern facilities, large living area and outdoor veranda offering breath-taking views overlooking the coffee plantation or mountains.

Each room in the villa has been reconstructed from an original Javanese antique Limasan, Joglo, or Kudus wooden house and is decorated with original antiques art collections. All rooms are equipped with coffee- and tea-maker, safety box, healthy corner, slippers, bathrobes, and custom made amenities.

The retreat is also fame for its Hammam Spa that offers Hammam treatments as well as a variety of spa treatments including Java coffee scrubs. It also offers traditional healing services performed by skilled local practitioners.
