A retreat to rejuvenate and escape from the hectic city life.
Treasure Bay Bintan, the 338-hectare waterfront resort development situated on Bintan island, has officially opened its Phase One development. Spanning 90 hectares it covers the Southern Precinct, or Chill Cove, and the Northern Precinct.
The Southern Precinct, surrounding the 6.3-hectare Crystal Lagoon, is the ‘happening’ spot. The Lagoon is billed as South East Asia’s first and largest sea water lagoon, equivalent to 50 Olympic-size pools. It offers a wide range of recreational and interactive water activities such as the jetovator, wakeboarding, kayaking, and scuba diving. It is also a social hub with dining outlets serving local and international cuisine, bars, dance clubs and spas.
The Northern Precinct hosts integrated wellness and aesthetic facilities, featuring a 21-hectare wellness resort with services in holistic health management and nutrition facilities.
The Canopi Resort (Canopi) is to meet the growing trend of glamorous camping, or ‘glamping’. Spread over two hectares the resort offers Canopi offers stunning view of the Crystal Lagoon.
Canopi comprises 40 safari-themed tent suites, which are decorated to complement the natural surroundings. There are three tented suite options – Safari tent suites, Lagoon access tent suites, and Jacuzzi tent suites.
Each tent suite is complete with sisal carpets, four poster king-sized beds, day beds and modern facilities and amenities that include air-conditioning LCD televisions, outdoor hot tubs, BBQ pits, and WiFi.
“The development brings a new and different perspective to Bintan island with its unique and innovative concepts, aimed at rejuvenating tired city dwellers and providing them with a respite from the bustling city life,” said Stefan Thumiger, COO of Treasure Bay Bintan.
